Just loaded the v5 again to see what little skills I learned long ago I still remember.
Trying to bring a block from a old file I had and it is sooo small, I try to rescale and NanoCAD shuts down, everytime.
I've tried making blocks and rescaling them does the same.

Crumbs, going to try the pinned "Shuts down when open file or start new file" solution and see if that helps.
