Spline edit

Steve Altman's Photo Steve Altman 22 Nov 2019

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying Nanocad and I have a question in regards to splines:

I use splines a lot in my work. In you manual you suggest that adding another control vertex to an existing spline is possible, as a "refine" option:
"Enter a refine option [Add control point/Elevate order/Weight/Exit] <Exit>"

But when I get to the Refine options all I see is:
"Enter a refine option [Elevate order/Weight/Exit] <Exit>"

Can you explain, please?

Thanks

Hi.
Your spline should be "defining points" type, not "control vertex", You can change it in properties window.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried your solution - used "defining points" type spline. Checked properties window to make sure spline "Method" is "Fit". Tried to edit by: selecting spline, Edit Spline, Refine.
Still no option to Add.

It's in Russian locale, but look. Is it something you are trying to do?

Hi,
use the following command line prompts to add a fit point for spline:
splinedit - fit data - add - Index - (enter the number of vertex, fir example 3) - specify new vertex.

I am very new to NanoCAD. Just drew my first spline and am trying to adjust it. When I move some of the fit points they reposition properly. When I move others a tag labeling it "Endpoint" appears and when I move it that point is now attached to the end of the spline. Why the difference?
