Dimension troubles

I'm taking my copy of nanoCAD out on it's shakedown, and all was working well until it came time to dimension.
For some reason, though there's enough room between the extension lines, all my text wants to go outside of it in the most in-the-way places possible. It looks rather a mess, and when I went into the dimension style manager and told it to always put keep the text between the lines, it refuses to save my choice for that option.
