Is it possible to create a Gcode-File for a 3D model?

NanoCAD can create .dxf files (or save .dwg as .dxf).
Then you can convert dxf to g-code using tools like dxf2gcode.
If you try it, can you, please, share your experience here?
It is interesting and might be useful for others.
