NanoCAD opens but file doesn't

nano7667's Photo nano7667 11 Nov 2022

I'm using NanoCAD 20 and Windows 10. Double clicking on a dwg opens the NanoCAD program, but the file doesn't open. I can open the file with the open document dialog within the program and everything works ok after the file is open.

NanoCAD is set as the default program for dwg file extensions.

Any ideas?

Can you, please, check your label properties (right mouse button click -> properties), what folder does it linked?
For example, mine: "C:\Program Files\Nanosoft\nanoCAD x64 22.0\"

Why are you using such an old version?
Didn't you want to try newer one, such as 22.0?

It's linked to this folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nanosoft\\NanoCAD 20.0\"

If you follow this path is there something like "nCad.exe" or similar?
I would recommend to upgrade in anyway.

Yes, there is a file called nCad.exe within the target folder.

NanoCad opens when I double click on a dwg. The problem is the drawing that I clicked on doesn't open. However, I can navigate to the file from within the program and open the file.

I'm not sure if the license allows for an upgrade. It was included with some other software.

Can you, please, send me serial number of your product license in private message to see if upgrade is available?
You can get it in: https://nanocad.com/...nocad-platform/

One of temporary variants to ease opening is to open platform and then drag and drop drawing files in opened working field.
