Hello,
I used nanocad v20, and I installed v22.
However, if I set v22 as the default program and open the file, only new document(Untitled1) opens and my file needs to be imported separately to open it.
The same thing happens on two PCs, is it an error?

Does this repeat after reboot?
If you click right mouse button on your drawing and select "properties" - what app is settled to open it?
After you once opened your drawing does it still opens empty platform after you double click on it?

Yes, the program is set to nanocad v22.
And even if I double-click on another file with the the program open, nanocad loading starts and a new empty platform opens.
Drawings can only be opened by entering an open command from nanocad or drag and drop.

I'm having the same issues.

22.0.5984.3737 build 6093

once NanoCAD is running i can use the open dialog or, as Song Dong said, I can drag and drop

filetypes are (as far as i can tell) associated properly in windows.
this is a fresh install of windows 10 and i don't have any other versions of NanoCAD installed

I think I may have found the solution.

I believe the issue was from the profile I imported from my nanocad version 21.
To solve my issues I had to reset my default profile by doing the following:
  • with a file open, click on the Nanocad symbol in the top left of your window.
  • select options in the bottom right of the menu
  • under the current configuration area, select the "profiles" button
  • click "Reset All"
  • heed the warnings about it resetting all ones (I'm thinking this is indicating it will remove ALL profiles and reset the default back to factory settings)
I'll have to make a new profile and adjust all my settings accordingly, but this would also explain the weird behavior i experienced going from v20 to v21

If i had to guess, I'd say my issues are directly related to me installing a different version of nanocad and having my profile reference settings and config files from a version that wasn't installed
it was looking for v21 API files in a v21 folder that didn't exist

have a look at your profile settings, maybe that's the problem

After you deleted NanoCAD, it's a good practice to clean traces.
They might be here:

After cleaning this your next NanoCAD installation will definitely be better.

Excellent resource!

In my entirely uneducated opinion, I feel like some of the file folders shouldn't be version specific... But i understand the reasoning on why they are.
I'll make sure to educate the rest of my office on this as well

Thank you Artemio

I checked this topic late, and there was the same issues in nanocad v23.

I just loaded and used the profile settings I used in v20.
After resetting the profile as ryanOKA explained, the file opened immediately.
Depending on the version, I think there is a problem with the api folder path or something.
It's a hassle, but I set the options manually without loading the profile settings.
Now I understand the problem too.

Thank you.
