Hello, I'm using Nanocad 5.0 italian version.
When I try to insert an external reference the insertion window shows all the commands gray (disabled) and after a few instants the following error message appears.
Can you help me? Thank you

Hello.
There is lack of information to decide what happened.
Did you try to insert the same way as it's described in "Help -> Creating and editing complex objects -> Insert External Reference"?
Did you try to add proper format objects, as described in "Help -> Creating and editing complex objects -> External references control"?

I've just repeated it on empty drawing...
It seems it's a bug.
But this free version on NanoCAD is unsupported.
If you need to work with XREFs then better to try Nanocad 22.
It has free period about 30 days to evaluate and don't have known issues with XREFs.
(and also has new features to work with 3D and other nice features).
