first keyboard hit is not registerd

I like working with the keyboard shortcuts, but when I press the first letter - it is ignored.
so when I enter say ex (and enter) for explode, I get x (and enter)
if I try L and enter, only the enter is treated and I get the previous entered command.
The only workaround it for now are :
1. entering the first letter twice - for circle © I will type cc (and enter), or for extend ex I will type eex.
2. I can point and click at the end of the command : prompt at commandline to focus the pointer
I am working with Nanocad pro ver. 20
is there any way to fix this?
