little confused on process/workflow

What I can't seem to figure out with my limited aCAD experience is how do isometric views work if you want to show hidden lines?
Say I draw a box in isometric view, how can I show the hidden lines in paper space when the model is 2d? If I remember right in aCAD you did this by changing the linetype and using layers. But in nanoCAD in isometric view with the 3d based model that just seems odd since the model can rotate.

What is the right and common way to draw 3d models and yet display them in 2d paper space with dashed hidden lines?
I am using nanoCAD Plus, wish I had bought the Pro now. Is it possible to upgrade license type?

Can this be done in nanoCAD?
