Crop by Clip not execute the command

I have a difficulty cropping raster images.
Crop by Rectangle works.
Crop by Clip does not execute the command.
I read in the Guide that the Clip must first be activated but I can't do it.
A tutorial would be helpful.

premesso che ho la vers. 5 free ma credo non ci dovrebbero essere grosse differenze con la pro o plus, io per ritagliare una immagine ad una determinata dimensione uso il comando "new clip boundary".
Seleziono il raster, poi realizzo il contorno con una polilinea o un rettangolo o seleziono una polilinea esistente ed il crop avviene senza problemi.
