Hi All,

Well, I've tried all I can to get actual scale into print - now i have to admit my stupidity in public and ask for help.

No matter what I try this simple little drawing isn't coming out to scale on paper.

I have previously transferred other drawings into other programs, sketchup, Blender, all sorts, and have printed to scale
on a laser printer, resin printer etc.

This is the first time I wanted a paper cut out to scale and it simply wont work.

Obviously it's me but I'm out of ideas.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

I have attached the actual file (or tried too) and an image of the difference from scale design to actual print - (ok in the image my pencil line looks out by a millimetre, but thats my camera angle).

Hello Jon,

Could you, please, first try to plot this drawing into PDF, using "Internal PDF Plotter" and then try to plot this pdf with your real printer?

I've just noticed, in your plot dialog A4 is 204x291, however, usually it supposed to be 210 x 297 mm
Maybe it's worth it to check why is it so?

Intresting - but isn't that just the print window for the drawing?

Can't seem to amend the paper size even when reselecting A4.

From the PLOT MODEL options, I went into printer setup, and advanced, and changed scaling from one of 3 options, None fit and fill to fill - and now it's only 1mm out over 70mm - weirdly -

Cant upload anymore images ;(

I suppose, it need some system coordinate with known sizes to plot. If there is wrong size of paper, then it might affect scaling.
Can you check the same printing in nanoCAD Platform?

Downloaded - That is one fine looking bit of sotfware, I have to say. Very smooth, clean.

Anyway, identical print out to last 'refinement'. Over 70mm, its out by approx just a tad of 1mm.

The issue must surely lie with the printer somehow?

The plot window was perfect, ie A4 measurements as you suggested.

I also tried a print out of the construction mod - identical to N24.

I can reinstall the printer maybe?

Reinstalled printer - no change -

I tried it on my printer (samsung ml-1640).
Before that used PURGE and AUDIT commands to clean the plot, just in case.
The results on screenshot: settings and the plot itself.
In my case it's 1:1.
Can you try your drawing on any other printer?
Or try your drawing (attached here) that I plotted (after purge and audit).
I printed from NanoCAD Platform by the way.

Also I'd recommend to try to set your paper size as 210x297. In my case it's predefined as "ISO A4"
If there is no predefined one, you can try to manually set it as "Custom paper size".
One more to check - in printer settings if output is set to 100% and "Same as original size" (or any similar settings specific for your printer).

Number of point here - In W11, I couldnt access my printer properties - it would just aloow me to click, spin a split second thought, and do nothing.

I removed the drivers again, resinstalled - same - I googled it and found this link and solution - it worked a treat - I could access from the W11 devices my printer in detail.

The window sizes in PLOT however STILL show non A4 typical size, ie 210 x 297 - I cannot shake this in the plot options.

I followed your posted steps - (THANK YOU!) IT Still didn't change mine though, Selecting ISO or A4, or even manual settings.

Then, I followed your original suggestions of PURGE and AUDIT - I've never used these before - AND IT NOW PLOTS TO SCALE!

There is/was something wrong with my printer, and that is now mostly resolved, apart from the PLOT setting of course.

Thank you gain for being so supportive in this issue - I am truly grateful for all your help - plotting to scale is a huge relief!
