Ouf ! salut cousin
Well, in english for all folks...
I never (almost) use the ancillary tools. Only properties.
If I draw by reasoning in meters and my surface in properties is 25,002 I consider that it is 25,002m². Idem if I reason in cm or in mm then it is 25.002cm² or mm². He won't tell me 0.000025002m² because I tell him about the meter in unit formats. This is only useful for transfers between software.
Besides, this is the reason for the variable "insunits".
On the other hand if I draw in metric and I have to give values in inches or in feet, it is normal that it is necessary to make a conversion in my drawing.
In fact these software reason in unity. A unit for him, km, m, mm, inches, foot for me, he doesn't care .... "rien à carer" in bad French!
In the end if you reason in metrics and you want surfaces in the bottom one solution is to make blocks, which you copy and which you scale. Your surfaces will be in feet and your original block will be in meters. I do this with metalwork (mm) in civil engineering (m).
You can also do all your drawing by reasoning by the meter then put everything on the appropriate scale and move on to the texts and the quotation.
That's all for me ! I don't know if that helps you!
