Hi, I have a problem opening old dwg files with viewports.
I am using Nanocad 5, build 2000.
I have attached 3 drawings:
Is there a known problem with viewports in old dwg files?
Thanks
I am using Nanocad 5, build 2000.
I have attached 3 drawings:
- Test 1 is the original file, which causes Nanocad to freeze when I open it.
- Test 2 is the same file, with the viewport deleted from sheet 1. This opens fine.
- Test 3 is the same file with the viewport layer 'TEXT' turned off. This opens fine.
Is there a known problem with viewports in old dwg files?
Thanks

Yes, my NC5 do the same, Freezes when trying to open test1.
Before that it says, that "cannot find: tech1___.ttf"
Then I tried NC21.
NC21 complained too, that "cannot find tech1___.ttf" files, but get over it and successfully opened "test1".
So, problem probably lives in layer "text" and if you try to change text objects fonts from ttf version to something else, it might help.
Or change NC5 on newer version Nano Plus.
Best wishes!

Yes, I had the same message about tech1___.ttf.
I found the tech fonts online and installed them, which stopped that message, but still it freezes.
From your suggestion, I have installed a trial of Nano Plus, and that works perfectly. Odd that the problem I have is with some older files, which I would expect to be ok.
