A0 printing impossible with the free version?
Antonello 04 Sep 2018
Hi all
My name is Antonello and I'm a teacher of Technical Drawing in an High School.
I downloaded yesterday nanoCAD free version, as I'm looking for a free program that I could suggest to my students.
It seems a very nice program with excellent features.
So I started to work with an exixting drawing but, when I went to print it I've seen that it was impossible to print a pdf with an A0 size, using "Microsoft printing to pdf". I've tried to change the size but at no avail.
I'd like to know if this is due to my insufficient knowledge of the program or this is due to a setting that limits the size of the printings that are possible with the free version.
With thanks
Antonello

Hello Antonello,
maybe it is restriction of Microsoft printer? nanoCAD 5 should print with any size, try another PDF printer.
If you plan to use nanoCAD for teaching, we can provide you and your class free educational license for nanoCAD Plus. Contact Support Center support@nanocad.com for more information.

Thank you very much for the kind reply.
Yes, as I stated, I'd like to use nanoCAD 5 for my teaching lessons in an "Istituto Tecnico per Geometri" ( a School for Surveyors) and suggest to my students to use it for their homeworks in their home PCs. I will surely contact the Support center to get a copy of nanoCad Plus, should this be possible.
Of course I want my students to print their drawings as PDF, so I can evaluate their designs directly on the screen of my PC, and so avoiding an unnecessary waste of paper and ink and, being the objects represented mostly buildings, often in a 1/50 scale, an A0 dimension is far from rare.
I do not really think that this is a problem due to Microsoft printer to PDF, as I use it with other CAD programs, but I will explain later my procedure so that someone could eventually find my error(s).
Cheers for now
Antonello

Starting with this drawing, a mm is 1 unit, the green lines are 1189 u x 841 u

Trying to use Microsoft print to pdf, but A= is not preset

nanoCAD 5 doesn't support Internal PDF printer, but you can download any free. Bullzip, for example.
Try nanoCAD Plus 10: https://nanocad.com/products/plus/ - it is free for trial one month period.
Send me message to Support Center about educational licenses.
