Update same blocks after editing
ct54181 21 Nov 2020
Hi there,
I tryied to do that since few hours. I make a block. I put a lot of that block on my draw. Now I want to change something on the block (size of one attribute) but I don't find how to after saved my change apply that on all blocks already there. I try redraw, regen. But nothing work. I am using version 5.0.
Someone have got an idea?
Thanks a lot

Hello,
normally the modification of a block causes the modification in the other blocks (same name) without any other manipulation. Maybe a memory problem ..?
A file for example ?...

Hello,
thanks for answer. I made a sample. I create one object with one attribute. I put one on the drawing. I add another one and try to reduce size of text. I can see that Name# have got a lower size. But it s not updating. If I had a new block, the size is the last one I edit.
I hope it s a solvable problem
Update
{
My configuration is:
I7-4800
8Go Ram
win10 x64
nvidia Quadro K1100M
}
Thanks again

Hello, thank's for attached file.
yes, you have to differentiate the block and its attribute.
If I open the block (the other blocks with the same name disappear from the screen) and I modify the circle (or draw a rectangle ) in the block, the other blocks reflect this modification when I close it.
The attribute is a separate object that remains unique.
When you edit it, the other attributes in the other blocks do not disappear from the screen. It is generated when the block is placed. The font size is an IN-block statement to generate the attribute. So this modified 'instruction' is read and used for the next block but does not 'propagate' into the previous blocks.
So, yes it is normal, not a problem.

Ok,
so there is no way to change properties of attributes? Maybe another way to create the block?
Thanks

Ok ok, ;-)
with autocad, I tried and it's work. But I want to stop using autocad. I am using maybe 5-10% of the software. So nanocad look like to be a good alternative. But I use a lot block to draw electrical panel.
Thanks anyway
