Area Measurements
lnj 11 Dec 2015
Admittedly inexperienced user, but have read entire contents of "help" and from what I can see, the "area" measurement should work, but it is so slow that I cannot even use the cursor to define the limits of the area to be measured. It is unclear as to how one uses the perimeter or area buttons. I assumed one clicked the button, then clicked around the permiter of the object or area to be selected for measurement, but did not work since the cursor freezes and disappears constantly. So much of NanoCad seems to work well and in fact seems pretty intuitive, I'd like to be able to use measuring tools as well.

Hello,
Inquire instruments work slowly on difficult drawings in nanoCAD 5.
I can advice you to zoom object to be measured, then measure it.

Hello.
I've started to use NanoCad few days ago, and still haven't figure out everything.
Is it possible to measure area like in AutoCad?...after typing "area" , you can select any points on screen, and it calculate size (area) between those points?

Hello Zvonimir,
no, now it's possible to measure only the distance between points.

I came up with a fast workaround accidentally. If you hatch the area, you can see the properties of the hatch to see the perimeter and the area the hatch covers.

I tried to use Area command to measure the surface areas of a 3D object in a 3D DWG file. I am using nanoCAD plus 11.
When I go to Area>Object>select it selects then filters out. I select again, it selects then filter out. Is this a functionality limitation because of plus license?

Area command works with flat objects. nanoCAD cannot measure area of 3D objects. Its volume is displayed on Properties bar.
