Is it possible to copy objects from one layer to an new layer? If so, How?

A "work-around" approach that I have used is to copy the object from point 0,0 to point 0,0. Then, select one of the duplicates and change it's layer in the in the 'Inspector.'

You can do it. Just select and copy what you want to somewhere on your workspace (I like to move it to a different place to be sure it's only the copy I'm editing).
Then go to "Properties" and change the layer.
Presto! You have your copy on the new layer!
