I am new to CAD generally and NanoCAD so this probably has a simple answer. I am able to rotate an item (block) on the horizontal plane by adjusting its rotate angle in the properties, but how do I go about rotating an item on the vertical plane?
Thanks for your time.

But you allow us to use the Z dimension. And 3d objects. AutoCAD R14 (which I learned how to use CAD in) had Rotate3d to do this. There's also the option to rotate along an axis, so you could have a line on either the X or Y axis so you could rotate the object along that axis (or just 2 points on either side). I just downloaded this program today and already have approximately 1,000sqft of my house modeled, including furniture. However, this is frustrating when I can't just draw a simple circle and then rotate it along the X or Y axis so it stands up. All of my lines, hatches, and meshes work fine, so why not circles?
