is it possible to set snap to search for either the nearest point or mid points on an object?

I'm finding snap in thiss oftware difficult to work wih

Accurate snap is critical for my work

Hi.
You can configure snap setting by right-clicking OSNAP button on the bottom pane and selecting Configure.
