I just installed under windows 8 and nanocad crashes on booting. It runs for a while opening up windows and then closes with a FATAL ERROR!Application cannot vontinue execution. Perform last chance saving action? Error. Is there a log file that can be inspected to get a better sense of what is causing the error?

do you have 32- or 64-bit version?

To start nanoCAD needs:

Name=Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1

Name=Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17

Name=Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5

Check - are all components installed.
Try to install correct Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable from Microsoft web-site.

Best regards,

Fatal errors can have a variety of causes. They often indicate a corrupt drawing, a program corruption, or a problem with your system configuration.
  • Try opening another drawing.
  • Uninstall any antivirus or desktop locking programs.
  • Update your graphics driver.
  • Try logging in under a new Administrator, Windows Account.
  • If DisplayLink Core software is installed on your system, try uninstalling it.
  • Do a full uninstall and reinstall of nanoCAD.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the .NET Framework.
  • Uninstall and reinstall Visual C++.
