I`m trying to port my custom app cwxTools, but cannot find a way to load my toolbar / ribbon?

Is there a how to document available to developers to help with porting apps to nanoCAD and importing custom app toolbars / ribbons etc

what file format do you use for your toolbars/ribbons? Is it cuix?

Yes, cuix for toolbars and ribbons.

nanoCAD does not support cuix files directly, but you can try use special cuix to cfg utility, I'll send you it in personal messages.
