I am trying to open a cad file in Nanocad 5 & the message comes up:

Open duocument
Error: cannot run command, another command is active
Can anybody assist please

and this problem with this file only or other ?
If with a new document NC opens normally, use the recover command in File> Drawing utilities> recover

I am getting this error too, when trying to open a .dwg from an architect. The .dwg opens fine in Draftsight and in DWG Trueview. In Nanocad, the screen remains blank, "error: cannot run command, another command is active" appears in the command window, all the buttons become inactive, and I have to shut down Nanocad by using the Task Manager. Can anyone suggest what the problem may be?

Hello,
Architects often use software in AutoCAD.
Various objects and commands are added (ARX) and stored in the DWG.

This complicates compatibility.
With TrueView export the DWG to DWG or DXF, the oldest version possible. This should "clean" the file.
