When I try to dimension a building while in paper space........... the dimension only reads as paper size not the real world size of the object I'm trying to dinmension

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rod

Hello,
yes ! in paper space no automatic scaling of dimensions.

It must be done "by hand" by giving the scale ratio of the dimension then make copies of properties.
See my video (in french but it's easy) https://youtu.be/PkLFuBwpf2I

That said, I often see quotes in paper space with scales that "jump" and become erroneous (Autocad 13) ...
Automation is always a source of surprises!

I discovered a different work around

I was working in an AutoCad file that had some dimensions on another sheet..............they were still correct

I copy/pasted one on the sheet I was working on............. used the dimension command after which I performed a modify (copy object properties) command using the good dimension as the base and the new dimension as the destination object................. which reset the new dimension with the proper atributes

A very easy fix
