Offsetting ellipses will turn them into splines.
Why is that so ? Is there any difficulty there ? You often need to offset an already-offsetted object, in that case it won't work...

that is known problem in nanoCAD. We will try to fix it in future version.

A workaround is to convert to poly, and then offset.
