I keep getting this error message when trying to open one dwg file.
See attached photo of a screen shot of the message
I can open every other file - just this one. It was created in nanoCAD last week - I have tried copying, and restoring to an older version - but no luck.

I have closed nanoCad and restarted my computer several times - keep getting the same message,

Is there anything I can do? I really do not want to recreate the entire drawing. I was hours and hours of work!

Hi.
You haven't attached the screenshot. And it would be helpful, if you show the file. Also try to install 30 days trial NC Plus and open there - file recovery functions are good there.

Hi Jennifer,
what version of nanoCAD do you use?
It also would be helpful if you could send us your drawing file, here or to support@nanocad.com

It is version 5.0. I thought the screen shot attached via the "paper clip" attach file option when i wrote the first post.
I see now it is not visible and now I do not see any other way to attach anything to this message,

I will send the file to nanocad support email.

Thank you.

Thanks for the file.
It seems, your server blocks messages from nanocad.com, message cannot be delivered. Here is the answer:

it seems, that something happened with the file, because its encoding is broken. It is not possible to recover the file. Maybe you saved it to flash drive? Or you closed the program through Task Manager when it saved the file? Or you switched off the PC? Or you made something another?

You can try to restore last saved version of the file.
1. Check the folder with this file, there should be neeck kitchen.dwg.bak and neeck kitchen.dwg.original files. Remove .bak and .original in filename, then try to open it in nanoCAD.
2. Check the Windows Temp folder. There may be neek kitchen.dwg(15-47-46_28.03.2018).autosave file (brackets contain the date and time of the last autosave). Move this file to the drawing folder, then change .autosave to .dwg. Try to open it in nanoCAD.

Helen -

I am sorry the server blocked your reply. We keep getting hit by possible hackers so our IT has amped up our security. The advice is so appreciated!

IT WORKED! I renamed the .bak file and it did open.

I remember doing this before with another program but I did not think of it here.

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
