My NC5.0 installation has stopped working... I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, checked the visual C+ version and other recommended tips but to no avail. New Windows 7 laptop with AMD Firepro graphics card. Have checked and downloaded latest driver versions etc., but still no joy. Any other idead or things I should check?

OK. I uninstalled again, re booted, downloaded the NCE2006 download file and reinstalled and still have the same problem. Also, how do you change the zoom/scroll settings. My dell touch[ad now zooms instead of scrolls and would prefer it to scroll. Not the touchpad settings and changing the scale factor in Options didn't help either.

Hello,
about installation: try to install nanoCAD from zipped archive. Download it from our FTP: ftp://ftp.nanocad.co...ocad/NCE50(2006).zip
Then unzip it to empty folder and start setup.exe

About zoom.
You can switch off zoom by mouse wheel in Options (change to 1 mouse wheel factor). It won't be possible to use it for scroll, but you can click the wheel to pan your drawing.

It seemed to work ok initially, but now, just a few minuted into editing any drawing file NC5.0 becomes unresponsive. I did uninstall, reboot and re download from the FTP link above. I'running Win 7 pro, with all updates installed.

is this problem with start nanoCAD or with working in nanoCAD?
I think, reinstallation won't solve the problem anyway.

nanoCad starts fine ans I can be working in a drawing file (any one, not one in particular) and NaonCad just becomes non responsive and I have to close it and restart. Sometimes I can work for an hour, sometimes 5 minutes.

I think, it is problem with one of your files, or you make some sequencing which crashes nanoCAD.
It would be helpful if you could find out the sequencing or send the file which crashed and tell what command you started before crash.

I also experienced the same (or very similar) problem with nanocad 5
Actually the main screen (menu, panels, etc) works - i can click through the main menu for example, but the drawing window (with model/layout1/layout2/etc) hangs and does not refresh. ncad.exe process keeps consuming 100% of one CPU core (25% of total on my 4-core laptop)

It doesn't matter what file I open - even new drawing (with Ctrl-N) hangs. Same with any existing .dwg file.

Tried reinstall (including from .zip), disabling AV, running in XP compatibility mode - nothing helps.

Any other suggestions?

Try to update your videocard drivers, try to change Graphic settings in nanoCAD options: OpenGL/DirectX.
Also it would be helpful if you could send us your system configuration.

Awesome! Changing from OpenGL to DirectX made it working! Thank you very much.
If you'd like my system config for troubleshooting, let me know - I'll send it your way.
