Hi Ian,
use Interface Customization (INTERFACE command).

nanocad forum is new to me and not sure if this is how to contact Helen publicly.
Thanks for your advice but I have been to customise interface many times but it seems like you need a course to be able to drive it.
Perhaps a couple of hints would help; there is nothing in the "help" items to give any guidance.

I finally worked it out myself and, for the information of those at my low level, this is the detail of how you customize tool bars using “customise user interface” (CUI)
Example; to remove “closed polygon" from the “draw” toolbar
Open “CUI” via “Tools” or “View” menu
Select the “Toolbars” tab
Expand the “Draw” tool
Right click on “closed polygon”
Select “delete”

Select “OK” at bottom of “CUI” panel then yes to save option
Close Nanocd11
Open Nanocad11 and check that “closed polygon is not on the “draw” toolbar

To put “closed polygon”, (or any other tool), into the “Draw”,(or any other toolbar).
In the upper right panel in “CUI”, select “all tools” or “commands” then scroll to locate “closed polygon”; (all the tools are listed in alphabetic order).
Select (left click) and drag “closed polygon” into the left panel of listed toolbars. Individual toolbars will be framed as the dragged “closed polygon” icon is dragged close to them.
Drop the dragged “cp” icon into the “Draw” toolbar when the “draw” toolbar is framed.
(The dragged icon can be dropped into any framed toolbar)
Select OK at the bottom of CUI and close Nanocad11 then yes to save option
Open Nanocad11 to check that “closed polygon is back in the draw toolbar

In this way you can declutter your screen with a minimum number of commands. The commands are not lost and can be reinstated for various types of work.

Hope this is of some use to someone
