Snap to mid between two points
Express layer tools

Both of these are in AutoCad from Version 14 and without wanting to be critical or ungrateful, are glaring missing functionality.

Otherwise so far an amazing program, running well in Windows 8 (64bit) consumer preview on HP Probook 4510s (Intel shared graphics)

thank you

The only REAL option you are lacking is: DYNAMIC BLOCKS... and that is it???

Ohhh and a tool palette to put them in for quick reference...

Apart from this NANOCAD is as good as it gets. I have tried ALL the rest, and I can honestly say NANOCAD is by far the best. (Apart from the UI... The icons need help!!!) A minor in my eyes...

Cheers,
Gaz...

Both are in the dimesions (from memory there is the whole range of macine tolerance tools). nanoCAD has a very extensive dimensioning set of commands. Check your online manual for details.

There is an additional command within the UCS command in AutoCAD that allows you to enter 3points - it isn't in brackets so would be easy to overlook. I use it pretty frequently though.

In AutoCAD, you just type:

UCS
3p

and then it asks

Specify new origin point <0,0,0>: (you select a point in model space)
Specify point on positive portion of X-axis: (you select another point)
Specify point on positive-Y portion of the UCS XY plane: (you select a third point)

and then it sets ucs to any orientation in 3d space.

If it's possible to add this, I'd appreciate it!

Edit:
I have to say, that this program is amazing though... I'm flabbergasted at how close it is to Autocad.

Edit 2:

1. NanoCAD works well with dynamic blocks created in AutoCAD, but it can't create dynamic blocks - will this be possible in the future?

2. AutoCAD has a button called "Dimension update". It updates all dimensions selected with the current dimension styles. This would be really helpful as well.

Highlight Drawing Element under the cursor.

ie. when the mouse hovers over a drawing element such as a line, circle etc., the element 'pops-up'.
This is specially helpul to see broken lines that look like one line, etc.

Honestly, I'm rather disappointed that I haven't been able to find an 'Extrude' tool yet. For me, it's the quickest way to make a 3D mockup from a 2D image.

Support for region operations like union, intersection, subtraction.

Right now I can draw regions, read them in API but can not perform any Boolean operation on them said above. Is there any other option for this (paid will also work).?

Is it planned in any upcoming release ? We need this desperately.

Attached Image: AcadInsertBlock.pngInserting a block from a file, as in the opposite of wblock. In AutoCAD when you insert a block you can browse for a file to insert as a block.

So far I am really impressed with NanoCAD. I have more than a few clients who would be very interested. The .NET API support is solid gold.

...EDIT... I see this has already been answered at http://forum.nanocad...indpost__p__192 - coming in the next version. Sweet.

I'd really like to be able to see:

1. Ability to open Sketchup files (.skp)
2. Export sections or elevations of 3D models as 2D dwg files. :-)

This would really attract Sketchup users to this software.

Also would like larger & crisper icons... this would help in ease of operation & working speed :-)
